Janet Bandera, JD
Janet is a nationally recognized attorney, author, lecturer and teacher. She graduated from the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a degree in Business Administration. She earned her Juris Doctor from St. Louis University School of Law in 1995.
Her law practice is limited to estate planning and charitable giving. She has been designated as AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell®, a designation given to less than 5% of women lawyers, and was nominated by her clients as a 5 Star Wealth Manager®.
She is also an adjunct professor at Washington University, teaching in the Masters at Law Program and is the Head of Moneta Trust, a division of National Advisors Trust Company, FSB.
Janet’s passion is education and she is available to families and professional advisors for meetings, small client events and lectures.
Janet joined the board of the Moneta Group Charitable Foundation ten years ago, taking over the day to day operations as well as acting as counsel on governance issues and strategic giving. She designed and implemented the employee volunteer program through which company employees have given thousands of hours and dollars to local charities.
Janet is also the Chair of the inaugural University of Missouri-St. Louis Planned Giving Committee and a member of the Women's Leadership Council and Friends Board of the Missouri Humane Society. She is a past Board Member of Gilda’s Club, AMC Cancer Research Center, the American Cancer Society Heritage Board and the Ronald McDonald House Planned Giving Committee.
She served on the board of the Journal of Practical Estate Planning, published by CCH, for 7 years and authored a bi-monthly column on charitable giving techniques. In 2008 she was appointed by Missouri's Governor to the Missouri Women's Council, an organization committed to assisting women in business development.
